Aloe Vera Gel

The one that belongs in the fridge:

  • Instant impact
  • With natural aloe vera
  • Alcohol free
A cooling aloe vera gel for skin that's had a long day in the sun. Sinks in without the sticky residue, soothes without the sting. Alcohol free and vegan, nothing in there that doesn't need to be.
Aqua, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Polysorbate 20, Propanediol, Glycerin, Carbomer, Aminomethyl propanol, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, CI 19140, CI 42090.
Can I use this on sunburnt skin?

Yes. Aloe vera helps cool and soothe sun-exposed skin. For best results, keep the tube in the fridge so it's cold when you apply it.

Is this just for after sun, or can I use it for other things?

It's a versatile gel. People use it for dry skin, minor skin irritation, post-waxing, and general hydration.

Is this aloe vera gel vegan?

Yes. It's also alcohol free and made in Australia.

How is this different from aloe vera gels at the supermarket?

Less filler, no alcohol. A lot of cheaper gels use alcohol as a base, which dries your skin out: the opposite of what you want from a soothing gel.

Does it leave a sticky residue?

No. It sinks in and dries clean. You won't feel like you need to wash it off.

Does aloe vera gel expire?

Yes. Check the expiry date on the tube. Storing it in the fridge can help it last longer and keeps it cold for when you need it.

Fixes cracked skin on fingers in dry outback winter air

I normally hate using creams and gels, but I accidentally found out maxi block aloe vera gel is the best thing for healing painful cracks in my skin around my finger tips and thumb which occur every winter from extremely dry outback air. I like it because it's not too greasy and I can put it on and keep on doing things without worrying about making everything I touch afterwards sticky or greasy. Best product I have found.

Great products and service

How the gel feels going on

The cooling gel lands cool and settles fast, with nothing left on your hands to wipe off. Pull a shirt on straight after and nothing transfers.

After salt and sand

Salt and sand leave skin dry and tight. This cools it down.

After a long shift outside

By knock-off, skin feels like it's had enough. A cold layer of aloe sorts that out.

What's in this aloe vera gel

Water and aloe vera juice make up the base, with glycerin for extra hydration. The rest is a short list of ingredients that give it the gel texture and keep it stable on the shelf. Full ingredients are on the tube and listed above.

How to use aloe vera gel after a day in the sun

1

Wash & Dry

Once you're out of the sun, rinse off any salt, sand or sweat and pat dry.

2

Apply

Smooth a generous layer over warm skin.

3

Reapply

Reapply through the evening whenever skin feels like it wants more.

4

Store

Keep the aloe vera gel in the fridge if you like. A cold gel on warm skin is hard to beat.

Can you use aloe vera gel on your face?

Yes. It's the same gel you'd smooth on shoulders after a long day, and it works the same on your face.

The thing to check first: this gel is fragranced. It's listed on the ingredient panel. If fragrance is something your skin reacts to, a small patch along the jaw will tell you before the rest of your face does.

Alcohol free, and why that matters

A lot of aloe vera gels use alcohol as the base. It's cheap and it feels cold going on, which reads as soothing for about a minute. Then it dries your skin out, which is the opposite of what a gel like this is for.

This one is built on water and aloe vera juice instead.
